Hoole Engraving Works Re-acquired by Bookbinders Workshop!

Hoole Machine & Engraving Works (Hoole Engraving Works) has been re-acquired by Bookbinders Workshop.

(Long Island, NY)  Michael L. Chrisman, CEO of Bookbinders Workshop, Inc announced late Friday afternoon (Oct. 22, 2011) that the company has successfully re-acquired the 180 year old business of Hoole Engraving Works. Since the summer of 2008, Hoole had been under different management (separate from BBWS) and was located in Utah. That unsuccessful experiment led to this re-acquisition and moving of the firm to the BBWS headquarters in Garden City, New York.

Hoole Engraving Works was established in the Fall of the year 1832 by Mr. John R. Hoole of London, England. Their first business location was 177 Williams Street, New York, New York / Manhattan. The Hoole business has had just (8) owners since 1832, which includes BBWS.

Gratefully, the company archives of Hoole have mostly been preserved down through the different owners. From original 'glass design negatives' and wooden casting patterns, all from the Civil War era, to original record books, etc., Hoole has always been a business that has been loved and respected by most of its owners.

Bookbinders Workshop, Inc. is now bringing Hoole Engraving Works into the 21st Century, and is now prepared to [immediately] offer brass finishing tools for bookbinders, furniture makers, and leather workers of all types up to 3,000 different tool designs.

Bookbinders Workshop, Inc. very proud to be in a position to bring new and exciting life to such an ancient and respected business as Hoole Engraving Works!

Please remember us when you have a need for fine brass finishing tools!

With all good wishes,

Bookbinders Workshop, Incorporated
